Charli D’Amelio, Chase Hudson, And The TikTok Room: Everything You Need To Know About The Split

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard the name Charli D’Amelio.

She’s the queen of TikTok with over 68 million followers. She comes from a great family and is the kind of girl you’d want to be BFF’s with in high school. Basically unproblematic and totally sweet. So when Charli posted an Instagram photo yesterday morning with the caption “Your loss ;),” everyone stopped.

Wait, but Charli’s Been Single Since April?

If you’ve followed Charli, you know she was dating Chase Hudson, also known as Lil Huddy, for months earlier in 2020. She may have announced their split in April, but just yesterday an IG page called @Tiktokroom has been spilling the tea. So, what happened?

After Charli’s IG post, and after she unfollowed both Chase and influencer Nessa, Chase Hudson took to Twitter in a now-deleted tweet saying, "All of this drama going on is because I kissed Nessa when we were both single."

Woah. What?

If you don’t know who Nessa is, she’s another big TikToker with over 9 million followers on the app. Over the weekend, she deleted all the videos she filmed at the Hype House (started by Chase Hudson and his friends). There was also a now-deleted TikTok of Nessa and Chase in the pool together in the background at the Hype House.

But, he and Nessa were both single, right? Yes. But it does seem like he and Charli were talking and planning on getting back together. And that would hurt any teenage girl (Charli is just 16 after all). Especially when right after, Chase went to Charli’s house and never told her.

THEN, Chase goes on Twitter and starts posting about all the TikTokers who have cheated on each other. Chase deleted his tweet but you can find it in the Instagram post below.

Charli totally called him out on the way he’s handling this situation.

Nessa spoke to People Magazine today about the situation. "I’m only going to speak on this matter once because there are far more important things happening in the world right now. I'm tired of being everyone's scapegoat, no matter what I say or what people say I've done, I get hate online. Yes, Chase kissed me & nothing else happened after that. I can speak for the both of us that it didn’t mean anything," she says. "The narrative that is being spun around me is one of hate and slut shaming, and the constant DM's and emails of people telling me i’m stupid and should kill myself are getting to be too much for to me bear. I’ve deleted my apps off my phone and only re-download to post - it's gotten so bad. it makes me want to quit social media altogether."

Closing Thoughts

Honestly, this whole situation is really toxic, and I feel awful for the teenagers who are dealing with this. The drama is still going! All I can say is, I’m glad I’m not a star on TikTok — and also, #TeamCharli.
