"Captain America" Chris Evans Is Officially A Married Man

The "Sexiest Man Alive" has finally found the love of his life. The sweet announcement comes one year after Chris Evans told Shonda Rhimes in an interview that he wanted to settle down. When asked what he was focusing on at the time, he said, "The answer would be that maybe [I'm] laser-focused on finding a partner, you know, someone that you want to live with." 

According to Page Six, the Captain America actor and his partner Alba Baptista said "I do" this past weekend in an "intimate ceremony" at their Boston-area residence. An insider told the outlet that their nuptials were "locked down tight" – guests were asked to sign NDAs, and cell phones appeared off-limits during the rite. Their star-studded celebration reportedly included Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner. 

Who Is Alba Baptista?

Baptista is a talented Portuguese actress who has appeared in several films, including Miami, A Criação, and A Impostora. From 2020 to 2022, the actress marked her English-language debut in the Netflix show Warrior Nun. Thanks to her impressive education at a German school in her hometown in Lisbon, Baptista is fluent in four other languages: Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German. 

The good-looking duo first sparked dating rumors in the summer of 2021 when Baptista followed Evans and his family on Instagram. One year later, Evans shared a cute photo of two jack-o-lanterns (one carved as the Cheshire Cat, the other Oogie Boogie) on social media.

In November 2022, Evans commented on the Portuguese actress' Instagram posts, complete with clapping hands and a melting smiley face. After months of the public seeing them engage in PDA, they finally revealed their relationship to the world in early 2023. “A look back at 2022 ❤️❤️❤️,” the Gifted actor wrote in a caption of a post featuring the two love birds. 

According to Us Weekly, a source informed them that "Chris and Alba have gotten serious" and that "This is the most committed anyone can remember him being in a very long time, if not ever. They spend most of their time at his place in Massachusetts and love the quiet life there, surrounded by nature and away from the spotlight. Chris was very open that he wanted to take his time before settling down.” The couple shared a rare kissing photo this Valentine's Day as well! 

Now that the two are married, will we be seeing kids in the near future? Possibly! Evans has been pretty open about wanting a family of his own. “I really want kids. Yeah, I do," he said in an interview with Men's Journal. "I like pretty pedestrian, domestic things. I want a wife, I want kids. I like ceremony. I want to carve pumpkins and decorate Christmas trees and sh*t like that."
