The last time we saw Diaz act in a movie was the 2014 Annie remake and she later shared that she's enjoying "a different time in my life now." She and her husband Benji Madden have a daughter named Raddix who was born in 2019. Although she's been focused on her family for the last several years, Diaz has decided to make a comeback.

Cameron Diaz Set to Return to Acting Alongside Jamie Foxx

The Charlie Angels star is set to star alongside Jamie Foxx for a new Netflix film called Back in Action. There isn't a storyline released yet, but we know that Seth Gordon, who directed Horrible Bosses, is going to lead the film along with a script written by Brendan O'Brien, who wrote Neighbors. Diaz and Foxx will likely be a laugh-inducing combo.

Diaz admits she's nervous about coming back to acting after retiring, so Foxx brought in someone who knows all too well what it means to un-retire—he set up a three-way phone call between himself, Diaz, and Tom Brady.

"I was talking to Jamie and he said you need a few tips on how to un-retire," Brady said on the recorded phone call. "I'm relatively successful at un-retiring."

"Honestly... exactly what I needed," Diaz said with a laugh.

"Cameron I hope you aren't mad I recorded this, but no turning back now," Foxx tweeted. "Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT." Foxx's acting career has been going strong while Diaz was enjoying retirement. He starred in Day Shift, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and They Cloned Tyrone.
