In a recent interview with InStyle, the music producer opened up about what’s next for him and his fiancée, Selena Gomez.

“I love kids; I love being an uncle. I want to be a dad, though, God willing,” Blanco said. “I’m just dreaming and praying every day.”

The pair, who got engaged in December 2024 after going public a year prior, have made it clear that they’re serious about building a life together. They dropped $35 million on a Spanish-style estate in Beverly Hills back in February, which Benny described as a space filled with “a lot of creativity and heart.” In other words, the kind of home that doesn’t just sit pretty for photos but actually feels lived in.

The idea of kids isn’t just Benny’s dream, it’s something Selena has spoken about too. She’s been candid about the fact that, due to complications from lupus, carrying children isn’t an option for her. But that hasn’t dimmed her desire to become a mom.

“It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people,” she told Vanity Fair. “I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different.”

That “little different” could mean surrogacy or adoption, something Selena has said she’s open to. It’s not a plan B; it’s just the path that’s hers to take.

Benny, for his part, has been prepping for this kind of role for a while. He credits his mom for teaching him how to understand women better, joking that her dating life served as an unofficial curriculum. “My mom always took the time to explain how a female mind works because she was going through so many dating traumas when I was growing up,” he said.

At 37, he knows he’s made mistakes, learned by watching friends mess up – and succeed – and tries to do better. “You stop learning when you stop listening,” he said. And if there’s one thing he seems determined to do, it’s listen.

Selena, 32, hasn’t said much publicly about Benny’s recent interview, but it’s clear they’re aligned on parenthood. When they first went public, fans were skeptical; many people didn’t see it coming. But a year later, they're engaged, talking babies – and we're totally here for it!

While others still deem their relationship is performative, this doesn’t feel like a PR stunt. It feels like two lovebirds who’ve been through enough to know that family is what truly matters.
