Pop rock darling Avril Lavigne has made quite the comeback over the last year. She's known for her early 2000s hits "Sk8er Boi" and "Complicated," and there was a while where she laid low and stayed out of the spotlight.
But last year in October 2021 Avril Lavigne released a single with Willow Smith and shortly after a solo single called "Bite Me." Fans were ecstatic to see Avril, 37, back on the scene, especially since she hadn't released a single since 2019. In the midst of getting her music career back on track, she has been happily dating punk rock musician Mod Sun – and it looks like they're taking their love to the next level.
Avril Lavigne Gets Engaged to Mod Sun in Front of the Eiffel Tower
The two were speculated to be dating as early as February 2021, and she was featured in Mod Sun's single "Flames." He also co-wrote some songs on her latest album Love Sux. Although Avril was just coming out of a long relationship, and she considered staying single for a little longer, she ended up falling in love with Mod Sun (whose legal name is Dylan Smith). Since then, the couple has been seen on the red carpet and out on double dates with celebrities like Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox.
The happy couple got engaged in Paris on March 27, and Avril just announced the news on her Instagram today. "Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours 🤍💍🥂Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022," she wrote in the caption. This translates to "Yes, I love you forever. Sunday. March 27, 2022."
She shared a series of photos of their engagement, which took place right in front of the Eiffel Tower. That's about as romantic as it gets!
