Ariana Grande Is Engaged, And The Fan Theory About Her Ring Is The Sweetest
Ariana Grande, 27, announced her engagement to boyfriend Dalton Gomez, 25, this past Sunday.
The pop star shared the news on Instagram with the caption “forever n then some,” along with a collection of photos.
One of the photos is a close-up of the pearl and diamond engagement ring from her real estate agent fiancé, and a heartwarming fan theory has emerged on social media about the pearl. Fans think the pearl is a family heirloom — originally set in her grandfather’s tie pin, which after his death, was made into a ring for her in 2014, and is now possibly reset in her engagement ring.
“Nonna had a ring made for me w/ the pearl from grandpa’s tie pin. She says he told her in a dream it’d protect me <3,” Grande tweeted at the time.
Ariana Grande hasn’t confirmed this fan theory, and it’s possible Gomez is just echoing the sentiment of loving protection by including a pearl in the engagement ring. Grande joins the pearl engagement ring trend with Emma Stone and Michelle Williams.
