Ariana Grande is one of the world's best-selling musicians, successfully selling over 90 million records worldwide. In 2020, the now 30-year-old earned the number one spot for Bloomberg's new Pop Star Power Rankings and was dubbed the "Biggest Pop Star in the World." Just one year before, "thank u, next" set records on Spotify, and she became the first solo act to take the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Grande has been open about her relationships throughout her journey in the public eye, displaying her emotions and experiences through her music. Her love life has often made headlines, with her fans eagerly keeping up with the ups and downs of her romance. A few of her most-high profile relationships included Mac Miller, who sadly passed away from an overdose in 2018. That same year, the "pov" singer and comedian Pete Davidson embarked on a quick fling, only for them to call it quits after getting engaged.

Unfortunately for Grande, her latest romance with Dalton Gomez now seems to be coming to an end, too.

Who Is Dalton Gomez?

Dalton Gomez works as a real estate agent for Aaron Kirman Group. According to the company's official website, Gomez "holds one of the largest rolodexes of A-list buyers" and is known for his "extensive knowledge in the fields of architecture and luxury estates."

Gomez and Grande first met when her team scouted him to sell her property from his listings. "Ariana was looking for a home outside of Los Angeles to be her getaway house, and her team found Dalton to help," a source informed US Weekly. "When she saw him, she immediately thought he was cute and very good-looking, and she asked her team to set up an in-person meeting with him. Ariana fell very hard for Dalton shortly after they met."

When Did Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez Start Dating?

The duo was first spotted kissing in February 2020 while they were out with friends at Bar Louie in the Northridge neighborhood of LA. A source revealed to US Weekly that the Wicked star and Dalton Gomez were official, yet Grande did not confirm this until May 2020. Grande finally revealed her love to the world through her and Justin Bieber's MV for "Stuck with U." Gomez appears toward the end of the video as he dances with Grande.

The "7 Rings" singer began sharing photos of her and Gomez on Instagram in late 2020 and even disclosed their romance in some of her songs from Positions. An insider told US Weekly that "Ariana sees something different in Dalton that she has never seen before in guys she has previously dated. He is the type of guy she has been looking for. He’s very protective of her, will go out of his way for her, and does little things that are chivalrous. Dalton will go above and beyond to meet her needs.”

By December 2020, Grande and Gomez were engaged. He proposed to Grande with a custom ring that featured an oval-cut diamond against a pearl placed on top of a gold band. According to the jeweler – Jack Solow – Gomez spent a total of six weeks selecting Grande's diamond. "Dalton was involved in every step of the selection process through FaceTime and Zoom, since he was on the West Coast and I was here in my office in New York. He was very specific about what he wanted," Solow explained. "He had very strong feelings about how he wanted this to look, a contemporary kind of way. It was his idea to do the diamond on an angle and he said to me we had to incorporate a pearl into the finished piece because it is very sentimentally special, the element of a pearl is very, very sentimentally special to Ariana. He wanted to include that in the ring."

Five months later, the couple got married. People announced that Gomez and Grande tied the knot in a "tiny" ceremony with less than 20 guests.

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez Separate

This week, Ariana Grande appeared at Wimbledon alongside her costar Jonathan Bailey and Andrew Garfield – but social media users noticed she wasn't wearing her ring.

On July 17, TMZ reported that "sources with direct knowledge" claim that the couple "have, in fact, had marriage trouble of late ... including a rough patch a few months ago." That same insider has told TMZ that their relationship "is heading for divorce" despite making efforts to reconcile. Apparently, Gomez and Grande have been separated by thousands of miles since December, when she began filming for Wicked, but they reportedly were already having problems before that. They're now allegedly trying to keep their friendship and still communicate on the phone regularly, but TMZ adds that "the marriage is kaput" according to their sources.

What’s New for Grande and Gomez?

Gomez has always kept his social media presence hush-hush, so we have no confirmation of how he's doing or what he's up to. Grande is still working on Wicked, but the filming ceased due to the transatlantic strike by actors that began last week. Nevertheless, Grande appeared in high spirits at the Wimbledon event a day ago.
