Amy Schumer Seemingly Defends Amber Heard On Social Media And Johnny Depp Fans Are Slamming Her For It
The trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard came to a close yesterday when the jury decided in favor of Depp on three counts and awarded him $15 million in damages. While most people have made it clear that they're Team Depp, some people have come out in support of Heard, including comedian Amy Schumer.
It was revealed that Heard staged a crime scene to fake domestic abuse and when she was on trial, her performance was anything but believable. When the jury ruled in favor of Depp, the whole internet erupted with joy, but there are still a few people in Hollywood who chose to side with Heard. It seems as though Amy Schumer is one of them.
Amy Schumer Seemingly Defends Amber Heard on Social Media
Yesterday, Schumer posted a cryptic message to her Instagram page. It was nothing more than a Gloria Steinem quote: "Any woman who chooses to behave like a full human being should be warned that the armies of the status quo will treat her as something of a dirty joke . . . She will need her sisterhood."
That was all the post said, but it was enough for Depp's fans to come out in his defense. Many people were surprised to see Schumer stick up for Heard in this way. They urged her to see how ridiculous it was to support a woman who had been caught lying so many times. There were even some women who shared their disappointment as real sexual assault survivors.
Schumer hasn't responded to any of these comments. It seems like she's sticking to her guns on this one. It's not surprising to see the feminists of Hollywood band together even when there's a mountain of evidence proving them wrong.
