Amanda Bynes Posts A Video On Instagram Thanking Fans For Their "Love And Support" In The Fight To End Her Conservatorship

Amanda Bynes has returned to Instagram after a long hiatus from social media. The 35-year-old hasn't been active in Hollywood for some time now but she recently filed a request to end her conservatorship.

Just as Britney Spears went through a long legal battle to end her conservatorship, Amanda Bynes is embarking on the same journey. Amanda has been under a conservatorship for the past nine years since August 2013. But she is doing everything she can to gain her freedom.

Amanda Bynes Posted a Video of Thanks on Her New Instagram Page

Last month, Amanda's lawyer David A. Esquibias told People, "Amanda wishes to terminate her conservatorship. She believes her condition is improved and protection of the court is no longer necessary."

She was placed in a conservatorship under mother in 2013 when she allegedly started a fire in a neighbor's driveway. This incident resulted in Amanda being put on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold; she was placed under this same hold again in 2014, and this time her mother became her permanent conservator. Amanda's lawyer that a status report about her health was filed in September 2021 so she'll get an update on the conservatorship status in January 2023.

On March 8, Amanda created a brand new Instagram account, sharing a 12-second video thanking her fans for their support.

"What's up, Instagram? Amanda Bynes here," she said in the video. "My court date is coming up in two weeks. I want to thank you all so much for your love and support. Peace out."

In the video Amanda is still sporting her septum nose piercing and the black heart tattoo on her face.
