All The Single Ladies, Treat Yourself This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is here again, and if you’re a single lady, you know the drill. Flowers and chocolate everywhere, couples expressing their love all over your social media, and heart designs all over the place. Here’s the thing, though: Valentine’s Day is truly just another day. Many couples don’t even celebrate it!

But if you’re feeling down that you don’t have someone to take you out to an overpriced dinner, here are some awesome suggestions for what to do to treat yourself.

Take Yourself on a Date

Have you ever taken yourself on a date? It is so awesome, and it’s a real shame women don’t do it more often. Get dressed up and head to your favorite restaurant. Bring a book with you that you’re really enjoying, order a glass of wine and a delicious dish, and just enjoy the feeling of being out. It is so relaxing and classy to sit at a table, drinking your wine and reading your novel. People all around will be jealous of how relaxed and confident you look!

If you’re still looking for a little more me-time, head to your favorite stores and do some shopping! Do you like makeup? Buy yourself a new eyeshadow palette. Do you like knick-knacks? Get a little something to add to your collection! Treat yourself to the perfect day doing whatever it is that you like, with no one there to judge you. This is YOUR day – treat it like one!

Do a Little Pampering

Have you been stressed out lately or just looking for someone to make you feel like a princess? Lucky you, you don’t need a man to make you feel special! First, head to your local spa and book a massage. Make sure that you point out what spots you want your massage therapist to focus on so that you get the most out of your time.

When you’re done with your massage, go to a nail salon. Pick up your favorite magazine along the way and get a mani-pedi in whatever color you’re in the mood for. You want red nail polish? Go for it. You want a dark green? Yes, please!

Finish off your afternoon by going to a blow-dry bar and getting your hair styled. It always feels amazing having your hair done for you by a professional, and then you’ll be all ready for your Friday evening! Feeling pampered yet?

Get Dressed Up and Have a Photoshoot

Have you ever done your hair and makeup, gotten dressed up, and forgotten to take a picture to record how great you looked? It’s so frustrating! Make the most of your Valentine’s Day by asking a friend or hiring a photographer to record you when you are feeling your best.

Do your hair and makeup (or have them done at Sephora or Nordstrom) and choose an outfit that makes you feel absolutely fabulous. Do you want to buy yourself a new pair of heels or jacket to give yourself a boost of confidence? Do it! Then head out to your favorite spots in your area and have a photoshoot! Take pictures and keep a record of how awesome you look and feel. Then post your photos on all of your socials and get ready for the oohs and ahhs!

Grab a Girlfriend and Explore Your City

Acting like a tourist in your own city is so much fun. It’s easy to forget how many things there are to do when you’re running back and forth to work every day. Well, ladies, now is the time to explore your town!

Now is the time to explore your town!

Grab a girlfriend and head to your local museum, zoo, or botanical garden. Explore it from top to bottom, stopping at your favorite spots and taking the time to enjoy it. Grab a gift from the gift store to remember how awesome this day is and finish it off by enjoying a glass of wine at a nearby restaurant. You’ll feel like a tourist in no time!

Get Artistic and Enjoy Nature

What’s your favorite artistic endeavor? Writing? Painting? Knitting? Whatever it is, now is the time to take it outside (if the weather is nice where you are). Head to your favorite park and bring your paints, notebooks, crochet needles, or whatever it is you enjoy doing, with you. Put on some feel-good music and take in the beauty all around you.

Take the time to enjoy your creativity. Let time slow down and don’t make plans for where you’ll have to be. Just enjoy nature and let your artistic juices flow. When you’re done, bring your work to the local café and enjoy your favorite TV show on your headphones and phone while sipping a cup of hot chocolate. What could be more perfect than that?

Closing Thoughts

Sometimes, we women forget how much fun we can have on our own. But there are so many great ways to pamper ourselves, and sometimes having no one to be accountable to can lead to the best day ever. So take advantage of being a single lady and treat yourself this Valentine’s Day!
