Meet your new Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray!
She booked a one-way ticket when she was 18 from Australia to the Philippines with some modeling money.
She’s been on a lot of magazine covers in the Philippines and is the new Jag Jeans Denim Queen.
Catriona received a degree in Music Theory at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
Catriona has a blackbelt in Choi Kwang-Do, which is a combination of Tae Kwon Do and kinesiology movements to prevent injury. Is there anything she can’t do?
When asked about her opinion on the legalization of marijuana, she answered that she supported it for medical use but not for recreational use.
She’s currently starring in a commercial for Pizza Hut’s sausage stuffed cheesy crust pizza.
When asked by Steve Harvey about the most important lesson she learned, her reply was “I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is poor and it's very sad. And I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty in it, to look for beauty in the faces of the children and to be grateful. And I will bring this aspect as a Miss Universe to see situations with a silver lining. And to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something as a spokesperson... And if I can teach people to be grateful, we can have an amazing world where negativity cannot grow and prosper and children will have smiles on their faces.”
If I can teach people to be grateful, we can have an amazing world where negativity cannot grow and prosper and children will have smiles on their faces.
Her attitude is one of gratitude and we could all grow from practicing that.
