12 Contestants From "The Bachelor" Franchise Who Have Gone On To Date Celebrities

As we get deeper into this season of “The Bachelor,” I can’t help but reminisce on the former contestants who left the show single but went on to date celebrities.

They may not have found love on the show, but many of The Bachelor contestants found fame, fortune, and connections with people they would’ve never met otherwise. Watching each season, it’s hard not to wonder if some people simply accept a spot on the show because they know that even if they don’t find love with the Bachelor, they'll gain much more from the experience of being on the show. They can end up being the next Bachelor or Bachelorette, or they leave the show with a new life ahead of them, thanks to their appearance on the season. Their experience on the show also means traveling the world and making money while doing so.

If you’re curious about contestants continuing to find love after their time on the show, here are a few follow-ups. These former contestants went on to date celebrities, and some of them even got married.

1. Lauren Bushnell and Chris Lane

Lauren Bushnell was on Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor, and she was the winner. They ended the show as an engaged couple, and even started their own reality show about their life together. But after some time, the couple split up, and Lauren met country singer Chris Lane in 2018. They got engaged the same year and married in 2019. The Lanes now share two children together.

2. Mike Johnson and Demi Lovato

Mike Johnson was a fan-favorite on Hannah’s season of The Bachelorette. But someone else wanted his rose: Demi Lovato. She posted an Instagram story of her TV with a snippet of Mike on the show, and captioned it, “Mike, I accept your rose.” Not long after that, the two communicated on social media, and began dating. Eventually, the relationship fizzled out.

3. Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland

Another bachelor-celebrity-collab that ended in a marriage is Wells Adams and Modern Family alum Sarah Hyland. Wells first appeared in the 12th season of The Bachelorette, then later as a contestant in Bachelor in Paradise, and most recently, he has taken on the role of bartender on the last three seasons of Bachelor in Paradise. In July 2016, Sarah took to Twitter, expressing her interest in Wells. It wasn’t long after that that the two were seen doing life together. They have been adorably inseparable ever since, and they tied the knot in August last year.

4. Hannah Ann Sluss and Jake Funk

Hannah Ann Sluss actually won Pilot Pete’s season of The Bachelor, but after the show ended, Peter decided he made the wrong decision, and decided to pursue Madi Prewett. In 2020, Hannah was spotted with NFL quarterback Mason Rudolph, but it looks like NFL Rams player Jake Funk made his move a year later, and it was a success. Ironically, Hannah went public with their relationship only a few hours before the Rams won the Super Bowl. Things have continued to go well, and the couple got engaged in January 2023.

5. Courtney Robertson and Jesse Metcalfe, Adrian Grenier, and Gerard Butler

Courtney Robertson was crowned villain of The Bachelor season 16. She later wrote a book titled, I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain. In her book, she references dating a few celebrities she had a fling with, including Jesse Metcalfe, Adrian Grenier, and actor Gerard Butler. She basically shamed each guy, saying something that made them look bad relating to sex. She claims that Gerard Butler tried to get her to hook up in the middle of the day, but she went to work instead. Honestly, she kinda does sounds like a villain.

6. Chase McNary and Tomi Lahren

After being rejected by season 12 Bachelorette Jojo Fletcher, Chase McNary went on to date conservative TV host Tomi Lahren. They had a few moments on social media that made it clear they were seeing each other, although the relationship was short-lived. Chase told US Weekly that they dated for around two weeks before parting ways.

7. Tyler Cameron and Gigi Hadid

Here’s another short-lived relationship. Tyler Cameron and model Gigi Hadid became Instagram friends while he was featured on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. If you heard the rumor that Tyler cheated on Hannah with a model, this is the context. Tyler was spotted leaving Gigi’s apartment within days of leaving Hannah’s. Not a good look. Rumors got out that he and Gigi were dating, and during their summer romance, they even went on vacation together to Lake George.

8. Tyler Cameron and Stassie Karanikolaou

I know a lot of girls love him, but Tyler Cameron gives me all the red flags. Shortly after his split with Gigi, he was already connected with Stassie Karanikolaou, Kylie Jenner’s best friend. The couple was seen together at a Clippers game, showing intense PDA. It seems like this was less of a “relationship” and more of a hookup situation.

9. Ben Flajnik and Kris Jenner

In 2013, these two were spotted together at his winery. While this may seem unconvincing about them dating, they were later seen together at a Kanye West concert. Kris posted a couple of photos on her Instagram which hinted at them potentially dating, including a photo of them together saying “date night.” But when she was asked about their interactions, she claimed it was “more of a business deal.”

10. Ben Flajnik and Jennifer Love Hewitt

Nineties star Jennifer Love Hewitt was also spotted at Ben’s winery. Are we seeing a trend? Sadly, the pair didn’t stick together. At the time, Ben was deciding whether or not to go on The Bachelor, and he claims that he didn’t want to be in a relationship with a celebrity.

11. Colton Underwood and Aly Raisman

If you watched Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, then you waited basically all season to see him dramatically jump the fence in Portugal. This was his reaction to Cassie Randolph dumping him. Despite the dramatic episode, they eventually left the show as a couple (dating). Then the pandemic happened, and Cassie and Colton were in quarantine together. Unfortunately, things ended for them, and it wasn’t pretty. Colton was given a restraining order, and he quit social media for a while. When he returned to the spotlight, he came out as gay. He is currently engaged to his boyfriend.

But, before all of this drama occurred, and even before his time on The Bachelor, Colton dated Olympic athlete Aly Raisman in 2016. Colton was a professional football player at the time, and connected with Aly on social media. The two ended up dating, but broke up in 2017. He refers to Aly as his “first love.”

12. Cassie Randolph and Brighton Reinhardt

Speaking of Cassie, she is now in a happy relationship with famous musician Brighton Reinhardt. The couple knew each other for a few years as family friends before starting a relationship. Rumors of them dating began about three months after her restraining order against Colton. He denied the rumors at first, but in July 2021, they made their relationship “Instagram official.” They’ve been together ever since.

13. Robby Hayes and Lindsie Chrisley

Not sure if you could call this a relationship, as it seemed to be more of a sex scandal. Todd Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best claimed that his estranged daughter was having an affair with The Bachelorette contestant Robby Hayes while she was married. Lindsie had already filed a police report stating that her dad and stepbrother were harassing her and were going to extort her with a sex tape. More information came out later when people accused Robby of making the sex tape with her, but he responded, saying, “We got caught on the security camera, basically. It was a puppy camera in her friend’s living room.” Yikes.

14. Josh Murray and Lindsie Chrisley

Looks like Robby Hayes wasn’t the only contestant that Lindsie was messing around with. Todd Chrisley also accused her of having an affair with The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise contestant Josh Murray. Josh responded to the accusations, stating, “Lindsie and I have been friends for years. I know Todd and his family are going through some tough times right now, and I pray everything works out in their favor. They should probably focus on how not to be imprisoned for 30 years rather than spreading gossip to try and hurt their daughter. I truly believe they are good people, and I wish them the best in however they choose to go about their actions.”

Closing Thoughts

Some of these contestants' lives really took a most unexpected twist after appearing on various shows from The Bachelor franchise. I’m happy for the ones who found their forever person and wish the best for their marriages. Maybe some of these people just wanted the extra fame from being seen with some of these celebrities, and maybe some thought they found something special. Either way, you never know where life will take you.
