10 Books Hot Girls Are Reading This Summer

All the hot girls are reading this summer, and even if you think that’s not your thing, I’m here to tell you it’s never too late to start! I have fond memories of partaking in all kinds of summer reading challenges and book clubs at my local library growing up, so allow me to be your tour guide through this summer’s reading list. Even if you are not a reader by nature, there are various reasons to pick up the hobby . Firstly, it’s a great relaxation hobby or wind-down at the end of the day . When I’m in the mood to do nothing, I like the option of picking up a book rather than the remote. I also notice how much it helps with increasing my attention span . At first, reading may make you realize how bizarre it feels to do something for a prolonged period of time without reaching for your phone . When you become absorbed in a book though, you find yourself not wanting to check your phone so you don’t lose your momentum, exercising your attention span. Reading can also be educational. I enjoy books where I know I’m putting time into gaining some type of knowledge, whether that be historical, spiritual, political, or self-improvement. Not that there’s anything wrong with a good fiction novel! And don’t you worry, I’ve got several recommendations for those listed below as well. The Fury, by Alex Michaelides After reading The Silent Patient and The Maidens by this author, I couldn’t wait for his third book to come out, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Between the Greek island setting, dazzling movie star characters, and delicious classic whodunit plot, this is the perfect poolside read. Buy it here . The Inheritance Games, by Jennifer Lynn Barnes This mystery series feels very young adult in a nostalgic way and was a refreshing shake-up to my typical reading rotation. How to Stay Married: The Most Insane Love Story Ever Told, by Harrison Scott Key Similarly to Unoffendable , this book’s author is witty . I found myself laughing out loud and devoured this book in about three days. This is the true story of his wife repetitively cheating on him amidst his unrelenting mercy and refusal to quit on her and their marriage. I wouldn’t even know how to categorize this book. Comedy? Dark Romance? Whatever it is, I thoroughly enjoyed the contrast of this fairly depressing story with his dry humor. But spoiler: there is a happy ending! Buy it here . The Housemaid, by Freida McFadden My book club is usually split on our opinions of the books we read, but this was a unanimous hit. A fast-paced read with no shortage of twists and surprises, I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like this juicy thriller. You’re Not Enough (and That’s Okay): Escaping the Toxic Culture of Self-Love, by Allie Beth Stuckey This book is pink – need I say more? It might be the only self-help book I actually recommend. Allie Beth Stuckey isn’t afraid to shoot you straight, but always in a loving, big sister way, demolishing the idea that society’s version of self-love is anything but deceptive. Buy it here . The Scent Keeper , by Erica Bauermeister With a wistful, deserted island setting and a nostalgic, fairytale energy, this book will transport you (perfect for a summer read). Counting the Cost, by Jill Duggar If you were a 19 Kids and Counting fan growing up, this book will undo everything you thought you knew. Jill Duggar spills all the tea on growing up with 19 siblings, in a religious cult, and being raised on a popular reality TV show. If you want to go down a Duggar rabbit hole, her sister Jinger Voulo wrote a similar book about her own experience. Buy it here . Unreasonable Hospitality, by Will Guidara I bought this book without reading a summary and was surprised, but not unpleasantly, to find that it’s about hospitality in the restaurant business. Hospitality is such an it-girl trait, and I found myself taking notes of the small things that go a long way in the world of hospitality.
