We’re Launching The Glance: A Daily News Breakdown That Helps You Read Smarter, Not Longer
The Glance is quick on the mind and easy on the eyes. It lets you glance over everything you need to know in politics, pop-culture, and more in 60 seconds or less. The way you read news is about to change forever.
Leaving the Echo Chamber
It's hard to know who to trust nowadays. All the media outlets have their own spin on a story, and it can often take more time than we’re willing to give to hunt down the truth. But settling for being oblivious doesn’t seem like a good solution either. So we're making it easier to be informed than ever before. The Glance is an invitation to step out of our echo chambers, and you're invited.
In many ways, the election in 2016 changed our world, and 2020 is going to be another pivotal year. In January, we thought the biggest things that would happen were the impeachment and the election in November. The coronavirus lockdown may have shut down most of the businesses in the country, but it hasn’t canceled the contentious election race.
The lockdown also deepened the existing divide in the country, between those who apparently value freedom and those who apparently value safety, depending on where you're getting your news. We’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff coming out of both sides. Fake news is everywhere, and if you’re not careful, you might get caught up in the propaganda.

At Evie, we’ve always been committed to covering the stories that are often ignored by the mainstream media. Whether it’s women’s rights in the Middle East, defending freedom fighters in Hong Kong, or helping women learn about their bodies, our mission is to seek truth. As part of that mission, we’re launching The Glance, a daily newsletter that will tell you everything you need to know in 60 seconds or less.
Seek Truth with The Glance
The Glance is our antidote to the chaos of the news cycle today. Monday through Friday you’ll get a breakdown of everything important happening in the world at large, politics, the economy, and pop-culture. We want you to read smarter, not longer. Reading smarter means getting your news from multiple sources. But that process is time-consuming and often frustrating, so we're doing the heavy lifting for you.
How It Works
We take the biggest, trending stories of the day from a variety of sources and condense them down into short excerpts you can read at a glance. Want to read more about a particular story? Just click on the link to read the entire article. Here's where we get our stories:
The World and Economics
The Wall Street Journal
The New York Times
Reuters
Bloomberg
Fox Business
Entertainment and Pop-Culture
TMZ
MTV
The Hollywood Reporter
When it comes to politics, we’re not interested in telling you what to think. Instead, we’ll be breaking down all the issues with a summary of what the Left and the Right are saying, so you can make up your own mind. We’re bringing together news from the biggest sources on the left and on the right to ensure an objective, bi-partisan perspective.
Sources for the Left:
The New York Times
The Washington Post
CNN
MSNBC
Sources for the Right:
The Wall Street Journal
Fox News
New York Post
National Review
And that's it. The Glance empowers you with information while respecting your time. Not only will you know more by reading less, but your mood and mental health might thank you.
