It's been over 20 years since the 1998 film was released in theaters (can you believe that?). Mulan was initially suppossed to come out last December but was replaced by "The Nutcracker and The Four Realms." Now it's set to be released March 27, 2020.

Liu Yifei plays the iconic Mulan. But where are our other favorites? Love interest, Li Shang, is going to be swapped for new recruit Chen Hongui according to the film's casting call. Does this mean we won't be hearing "I'll Make A Man Out Of You??" Unfortunately, yes. This movie looks like it will be more of a martial arts spectical than a musical. The live-action also will feature a new character who is a witch.

The cinematography is gorgeous and it's directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider). It's most likely the last of the Disney films that can be made into a live-action movie (at least of Disney's Renaiassance Era) so a lot is at stake. Reactions on Twitter have been mostly positive aside from the movie not featuring Mushu (why??) and not having the original music (what?!). Hopefully it will have some beautiful new songs and keep the comedy that made the original film a favorite among Millennials. Check out the trailer below.
